Illuminating + Ultimate Gray / Pantone 2021

My original hand-painted artwork honoring the 2021 Pantone Colors of the Year, Ultimate Gray + Illuminating.

It's wild to think how a simple virus can tie the entire human race together. We all might have different opinions of how 2021 went, but for most of us the year was scary, filled with uncertainty and doubt. It was grey. As with most things in life, there was hope, but it felt far off in the distance. I created this painting to symbolize my experience with the pandemic. I've found there is always hope, brightly gleaming yellow in the future. If flowers can find a way to bloom through the suffocation of concrete, we can make it through too.
